Who we are

The principle: what you enter stays with you

Clairsmith's tools (day rate calculator, quote and invoice generators, Factur-X export, Factur-X invoice reader, late payment penalty calculator, reminder letters) run entirely in your browser. The information you enter and the files you open in these tools are sent neither to Clairsmith nor to any third party.

If you choose to save your seller details in the invoice generator, they are stored only in your browser (local storage) and do not leave your device. You can erase them at any time with the dedicated button.

When you move from one tool to another (“Turn into an invoice”, “Generate the reminder letter”), the information is passed through your browser's session storage, erased as soon as it is read or when you close the tab.

Audience measurement

To understand how the site is used, Clairsmith uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, the audience-measurement tool provided by its host. It produces aggregated, anonymous statistics: pages viewed, referring site, country, device and browser type, and page-load performance. According to Cloudflare, this tool sets no cookies, uses no browser storage and does not attempt to identify you individually, including by “fingerprinting” your IP address or browser. Purpose: measuring traffic and improving the site. Legal basis: the publisher's legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

If you subscribe to the newsletter, we collect your email address.

Purpose: sending you the Clairsmith newsletter and informing you about new tools and products (including Clairsmith Pro and the International Freelance Kit).
Legal basis: your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), collected through a checkbox and confirmed by a validation email (double opt-in).
Recipient: our email service provider, Brevo (a company established in France), acting as a processor.
Retention: until you unsubscribe. With no open or click for 3 years, your data is deleted.
Unsubscribing: in one click, through the link in every email, or on request at [email protected].

Purchases

Clairsmith's paid products are sold through an external sales platform, which processes the payment and your purchase data under its own privacy policy. Clairsmith only receives the information needed for delivery and customer service (name, email, product purchased).

Cookies

The site sets no cookies, whether for audience measurement, advertising or tracking. No consent banner is therefore shown.

Hosting and security

The site is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc., which processes the technical data strictly needed to display the pages and to protect against attacks (IP address, requests). See Cloudflare's privacy policy: https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/

Your rights

You have the rights provided under the GDPR: access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction, portability, and withdrawal of your consent at any time. To exercise them: [email protected]. You can also lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority (CNIL, www.cnil.fr).

Changes to this policy

This page is updated whenever the site changes in a way that affects personal data. The last-updated date appears at the top of the page.
